In the 20th century the distribution of news was simply, print based being Newspapers or magazines, transported to shops or delivered to houses. Some companies that are still running today are, The Telegraph, The Guardian and The Sun.
Similarly with broadcast the news is show at specific times of the day like 6pm. Examples of TV News providers are BBC One, Sky News and ITV.
Within the 21st century, the ways in which news is distributed has changed as now we can all publish our own stories on Social medias like Twitter. This is because traditional ways of distribution like Newspapers are far less common and the rise in digital technology. The independent is a good example of the movev to digital because it use to be print based but now you can find the newspapers online on their webpage. Other Newspaper companies now have also made apps where users can move online and read articles wherever they are. Examples of this is The Guardian, BBC NEWS and Sky News.
The popularity of digital news has risen over the years because of the growth in technology everything can be found online. News ca be seen on platforms like Facebook, Instagram and twitter where people can upload instantly and get people interested. Facebook Live has reported several news stories that have later gone viral as they are so instant its normally the first place you see it.
