These planning tools are helpful to me to help me plan my trailer so I can develop it further so my target audience can appreciate it more and relate more to it making them want to watch the full thing.
Moodboard
When looking at my moodboard I will be focusing more on the lonely girl aspects of the collage with the smoking and homeless parts. With the drug use and buying this will not be appropriate for my piece as it may promote use but instead of showing I will just infer that there is drug use without showing it.
To ensure my trailer is appropriate for my audience I need to consider the regulatory body guidelines. As my audio-visual is a film trailer, I have looked at the British Board of Film Classification for guidelines on age.
I am aiming for my trailer to be at an age rating of 12A to ensure I reach the biggest audience for the festival. My film is more aimed at 15 because of the violence and storyline. Because the trailer is promoting the festival I want to have the biggest reach possible for promote the festival as best it can. To ensure this, I have looked at the following guidelines that are relevant.
Discrimination
In terms of discrimination my trailer will have some discriminatory factors in it. The violence conducted on Stevie will be because she is homeless and vulnerable but the film will not have any discriminatory language that can be offensive to the audience.
Drugs
In my film there will be some use of drugs as the character starts to use them more as she runaway. There will however be use of cigarettes in my piece to emphasise the downhill spiral Stevie is on. However there will be no scenes of her buying them, promoting them or anyone speaking positively of them.
Imitable Behaviour
My film is based of the dangers of running away and being homeless. Therefore my piece does the opposite of glamourising the dangerous behaviour as it shows the negatives and potential issues that comes with it.
Language
Within my film there will be strong language but it will not be used frequently and will not be used in the trailer so everyone can watch it. None of the words used will be too harsh or offensive to anyone at home.
Nudity
The is no nudity in my film nor will there be any sexual content.
Sex
There is no sex scenes within my film.
Threat
There are some signs of threat in my film and trailer with the killer chasing Stevie. However scenes of horror are not frequent as I break the story up more. The threats are shown to the audience as well but are not too scary that will make them not want to want.
Violence
Within my film there will be moderate violence with barely any gore. There will be no sexual violence within my film. In the film you will not see the violence happen only the aftermath so we won't see much violence at all and definitely no contact.
Other legal considerations
Data Protection Act
Data protection is the security of peoples data like phone numbers, account numbers, address, full name, emails and more so that they don't get stolen and used to steal money or identities. For my film I will be collect data from my actors and crew members so I can easily contact them. This data will be kept it a safe place that only people who need it have access to it. Information sheets like Call sheets are to be kept safe in a google document where only a select few people have access to it.
Copyright
For my film I plan to have music in the trailer to engage the audience as well as throughout the film. To get access to music that has copyright on it we need to get a license however I will not be using copyrighted music as it would be too expensive so we will be using royalty free music from sound libraries. With royalty free music, I don't need to ask to use it nor have to pay so it more efficient for me.
